Landing Page Optimization Tip: Create Effective Call to Action

October 03, 2016

Landing page optimization is the process of maximizing each possible element of your landing page. Elements such as content, design, forms, path, etc. On this topic, we will tackle the path or funnel element - landing page conversion path.

When you create a dedicated landing page, there is a particular path that your visitors will go through before reaching your landing page, and it all starts with a call to action or CTA. CTA can be placed anywhere, yes anywhere. You can put it on your website blog, email, social media, or even start a pay per click campaign with a CTA! And here’s a tip: link your CTA to your website’s dedicated landing page. Not the homepage, not to any other website page. Only to the landing page. Your visitor already clicked the bait where you want to them to get started with, now push them to where you want them to be.

So how to create an effective CTA? Here are some pointers:call-to-action.jpg

Use action verb - words such as download, sign up, grab, etc. should be utilized. That’s why it called call to action because it involves some action!

Make them visible - don't design them in a way that they camouflage to your website’s design, instead design it in a way more noticeable. Use contrasting color of your site design and insert them on a related blog topic.

Add a sense of urgency - entice them to act now instead of later, this will make your campaign a lot more useful.

Call to action and landing page connection - make sure that the copy of your CTA aligned to what your landing page is about or else you are misleading them and result to not liking your business. Example, if you are offering a free ebook give them a free ebook and not some nerve wrecking nonsense videos.

In short; clear, direct to the point and noticeable CTA is the effective CTA. Now you have some insights on how to create an effective CTA don’t forget the tip I gave you earlier, always link your CTA to your landing page.
