SEO Mistake: Failing to Think Like A Human

October 10, 2016

Each year Google usually performs major updates and minor monthly - quarterly to their search algorithms. Way back in 2012 the search algorithm yield results based on the keywords typed by the user, however, starting 2013 its algorithm is getting wiser. Instead of only giving people on keyword-based search results, it also tries to answer what the user search for and even suggest what other people are searching.

Behind every searched word is a human behind it. Thus, you must not fail to think like a human in designing your website. The best information comes from the site that is crafted with people in mind. Human wants answers on their questions and Google had gained the ability to recognize the full queries instead of picking up fragmented words.

Here are some tips how not to failing to think like a human on your next website redesign:

  • Add value to your content. There are many ways to this such as adding data visualizations like an infographic, citing examples, videos, etc. When readers find your content valuable and useful, most likely they will share it.

  • Try to get personal. The best to engage a personal tone in your content is to use the second person which is you, your and yours. It allows the reader to experience the story as if their own and it adds a personal touch like you are having a conversation together. It's like you are talking to your reader directly.

  • Take advantage of how-to articles. Remember, humans are looking for answers to their queries, and most of the queries involve how-to (e.g. how to bake a cake, how to write excellent blog, how to nail the next website redesign)

THINK REVIEWS!
Google is taking advantage of how many reviews and the star rating of your business to play a role in ranking your business on the web. The more reviews you can have with an overall 5 star rating the better of course, but not just for new customers looking to decided on your business to purchase from but aslo when it comes to SEO how and howt Google respects your brand and ranks your business online.

Your ultimate goal on your next website redesign shouldn’t be search engine optimization but rather human optimization. If you focus on your target audience’s needs, SEO takes care of itself.
